Studio Ghibli Amusement Park Will Open in Japan in November 2022

An amusement park based on the work of the legendary Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli , will open on November 1, 2022 in Nagakute, Japan . The news was announced through Twitter the company's official
The original plans for the park's opening were announced in 2017, and the park is not the same as the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. In general, Ghibli Park will be an amusement park with rides inspired by the most popular films from Studio Ghibli.
Ghibli Park will take place at the 2005 World Expo in the city of Nagakute, about 144 kilometers east of Kyoto and 241 kilometers west of Tokyo. Satsuki and Mei's home rides from My Neighbor Totoro have already been built at this location for the exhibition, but the park will also have new rides based on other Ghibli films.
As currently planned, Ghibli Park will have five areas, although only three will be open to the public at the time of opening.
The five areas will be named, as translated into English, Youth Hill Area, Ghibli Large Warehouse Area, Dondoko Forest Area, Princess Mononoke Area and Witches' Valley Area.
The Youth Hill Area, sort of like the park's main gate area, will be lined with buildings similar to those seen in Whisper of the Heart sequel spin-off . Inside the Ghibli Large Warehouse Area fans will visit the city of Spirited Away , an area that will also include an exhibition hall and cafeteria.
When fans walk into the Dondoko Forest Area, visitors can see the home area of Satsuki and Mei from My Neighbor Totoro , as well as other locations seen in the film. The Princess Mononoke Area and Witches' Valley Area will not open to the public until 2023 and official details regarding the area have not been disclosed.
However, France24 notes that other areas will be inspired by Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and Kiki's Delivery Service.
The opening of the Studio Ghibli theme park comes a year after another iconic Japanese brand, Nintendo, opened its own theme park at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.(*)
