1. Choose the right cut of meat

"Actually, you can use any part of the meat, but the hash in it cooks quickly because it's soft," he continued. 

2. Marinate the meat for at least 15 minutes

Beef pieces must be marinated first before making a strait solo.


Sisca said that the meat to make strait solo can be marinated using shallots, powdered broth, and sweet soy sauce.

"The chopped onion is rubbed (on the meat) directly with hands to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed, then smeared with sweet soy sauce and powdered broth," said Sisca.

The meat for making strait solo must be marinated for at least 15 minutes until the seasoning is fully absorbed.

"Not immediately processing it is also okay. If you can leave it in the morning until night. The longer it is, the better it is," said Sisca. 

3. Pay attention to the time to add water

After marinating, the meat must be cooked first with stir-fried spices, then add water.

Sisca said that the addition of water must be done after the meat has shrunk so that the spices in the meat are more pronounced.

"You have to be patient to see the water in the meat has shrunk. Make sure that the water has shrunk, then add water," said Sisca. 

4. Do not immediately open the lid of the pot when cooking with pressure

Finally, Sisca also shared tips for cooking solo straits using a pressure cooker.


According to him, strait solo meat should at least be cooked for 20-30 minutes in a pressure cooker to make it tender.

During cooking until the pressure sound disappears, he advises not to open the pressure cooker at all.

"Make sure that we turn on the fire. It's hot, then we put the meat in. It's closed and the cooking process takes 20 minutes," said Sisca.

"For 20-30 minutes, don't open it. Until the steam runs out and there is no sound anymore. Because after cooking, the ripening process continues," he concluded.
