Balinese Food Potentially Supports Indonesia Spice Up The World Program

Indonesia's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that Bali is one area that has high potential to support the Indonesia Spice Up The World (ISUTW) program.

He said this during a visit to the opening of the Bali Timbungan restaurant at the Sarinah Building, Jakarta.

"Bali is already well known for its culture and tourist destinations, so it can sell the brand Spice Up The World to embrace diaspora abroad with a collaborative pattern," said Sandi during a press conference at the Sarinah Building on Tuesday (14/6/2022). ).

Indonsia Spice Up The World is a program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) which involves local institutions to increase the marketing of Indonesian spices or processed food.

"If in Indonesia there are restaurants such as Chinese food, Thai food , or Japanese food , now we also have Balinese food. This could be a leading gastronomic destination for the revival of business opportunities and employment opportunities," he said.

In line with what Sandi said, the Chair of the Bali Tourism Board (BTB) Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana said that Bali is currently promoting the culinary sector.

"After the pandemic, Bali has now turned to culinary tourism, so that Bali is not only famous for its cultural aspects," said Bagus.

"Currently, about 70 percent of domestic tourists have visited Bali. We must maintain the momentum," said Sandiaga.
