If food in Indonesia is known for its very distinctive spices, then India is known for its garam masala. This salt is very popular in India and is used in various dishes.

Even though it is called salt, it turns out that garam masala is not a type of salt. In Indian language, garam masala comes from two words, garam means heat and masala means spice.

Garam masala is a mixture of several spices, useful for flavoring Indian dishes. In appearance and taste, garam masala has a brownish color and a spicy taste that is different from table salt at home.

Even though it comes from India , you can also make processed dishes using garam masala. Check out some recipes for processed garam masala that you can make at home: 

Ingredients:

  • 600 grams of chicken breast fillet
  • 40 ml yoghurt
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • tablespoon grated ginger
  • tablespoon lemon juice
  • teaspoon cumin powder
  • tablespoon garam masala
  • tablespoon tomato paste
  • ½ teaspoon of tandoori coloring
  • teaspoon chili powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • Cooking oil, for greasing

How to make:

  1. Make 3 strokes on each fish fillet.
  2. Combine ginger, garlic, lemon juice, coriander, cumin, salt and chili powder in a bowl, mix well.
  3. Add yogurt, tomato paste, salt and coloring, mix well.
  4. Put the chicken in the spices, coat well.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic, refrigerate for 3.5 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
  6. Grease the grill pan with cooking oil, grill the chicken while turning it over and brush with the remaining spices until cooked. Lift.
  7. Serve while warm.

Masala Chai Resep Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml of water
  • 2 tsp tea leaves
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 2 cardamoms, bruised
  • 1 1/2 whole nutmeg
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole black peppercorns
  • 100 grams of sugar 150 ml of milk

How to make:

  1. Boil water.
  2. Add all ingredients except milk and sugar.
  3. Boil again briefly, leave for 1 minute
  4. Warm the milk in a saucepan.
  5. Pour the hot tea mixture on top while straining into the cup.
  6. Add milk and sugar. Can be served warm or cold with ice cubes

Chana Masala Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chickpeas (kabuli channa)
  • 2 chopped potatoes
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon mango powder
  • 1 tablespoon chole masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 3 teaspoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 bay leaves

For decoration:

  • 1 slice of tomato
  • 1 chili
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • lemon slice

How to make:

  1. Soak the beans in cold water for at least 6 hours.
  2. Cook the beans in a heavy saucepan
  3. Fry potatoes in a frying pan using ghee
  4. Saute coriander leaves, cumin and chili powder in the same frying pan for a few seconds
  5. Saute coriander leaves, cumin and chili powder in the same frying pan for a few seconds
  6. Add chole masala, mango powder and black pepper powder and cook for 2 minutes
  7. Put the chopped potatoes and tomatoes in a frying pan and cook for 2 minutes
  8. Add decoration. Chana Masala is ready to serve.
